Laughlin Homes & Restoration, Inc. has been a prominent homebuilder specializing in design and build in the Fredericksburg area for over 20 years. At the age of 24, third-generation builder Richard Laughlin, president of Laughlin Homes & Restoration, Inc., set out to build houses under a new philosophy— "The Art of Living." Using this unique approach, Laughlin makes building a home a personal experience for each individual owner. This process requires constant client interaction in order to give them a unique home that includes their ideas, and is built specifically around their needs and wants. Whether it is spending time with clients in showrooms, framing a complicated roof or designing the interior to best display an owner's antique furniture, Laughlin Homes & Restoration, Inc. goes the extra mile to create the true "Custom Home" experience in the Texas Hill Country.

Richard Laughlin is readily involved in the community where the company has become so successful. He currently volunteers as Project Manager of a $1.3 million project for the Gillespie County Historical Society. In addition, Richard has served for 16 years on the Board of Directors of the Gillespie County Fair Association and currently serves on the Rural School Advisory Board, the United Methodist Church Council, and the Hill Country Home Builders Board of Directors.

Interior Designer—Jennifer Eggleston
Fredericksburg, TX

A major part of any designer's success is finding and fine-tuning their personal style. Jennifer Eggleston's style, which she has termed "Cottage Industry Style," is a combination of edgy, modern elements and classic country elements. Making these two styles coexist is a challenge, but Jennifer had mastered it by using "The Art of Editing." Jennifer's greatest strength is her ability to create a powerful and cohesive space by discerningly editing a client's existing elements.

A native Texan, Jennifer draws the country elements of her style from her home state. Jennifer graduated with a degree in Interior Design from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) and began her career working for Houston designers Jane Page Crump, Cynthia Stone and Donna Vining. In 1993, she began working for Ralph Lauren Home Collection, where she was in charge of merchandising, working with visual design and opening new stores in Houston, Phoenix and Atlanta.

After seven years with Ralph Lauren Home Collection, Jennifer, and her eight-year-old daughter Dylan, returned to Texas and are now living in Fredericksburg. Back in Texas, Jennifer wears many hats, including designer, decorator and stylist. As a freelance designer, Jennifer has done work all over the state of Texas, including Houston, Lubbock, Austin, San Antonio, Longview and Fredericksburg. Jennifer also works with local Fredericksburg stores Homestead Antique Furnishings and Photography 414 Gallery. At Photography 414, Jennifer uses her design expertise as she reviews and approves new photographic submissions and acts as a liaison between new artists and the gallery. Her most recent venture is design work for House.Wine.—a new retail fusion business based in Fredericksburg. Jennifer's work and her personal home have been featured in Southern Living, Country Living and on HGTV's series Country Style.

Jennifer is actively involved in her community, serving as a sponsor for Young Life, Habitat for Humanity and the Human Needs Council. Jennifer also volunteers her time and design work to the Heritage School of Fredericksburg.
